ROBERT MONTGOMERY

I came across an outstanding artist named Robert Montgomery who produces thought provoking displays that are installed around the world. Take a peek and hopefully you leave feeling as inspired as I am.

"Robert Montgomery follows a tradition of conceptual art and stands out by bringing a poetic voice to the discourse of text art. Montgomery creates billboard poems, light pieces, fire poems, woodcuts and watercolors. He was the British artist selected for Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2012, the first biennale in India. Montgomery has had solo exhibitions at venues in Europe and in Asia, including major outdoor light installations on the site of the old US Air Force base at Tempelhof. The first monograph of his work was published by Distanz, Berlin in 2015."

YOGI PLAYLIST

Over the past few months I've become addicted to practicing yoga - I try to go every day, if not twice, if I have the time - I joined the KULA Annex yoga community and fell in love with the studio, teachers and the practice of hot yoga. Not only have I learned a lot about my body and breathing techniques but even though yoga can be somewhat intimidating as a beginner, I've learned that not only is it repetitive but once you understand the different flow sequences and names of the poses, you can get through any level of practice. I started attending most of the classes taught by Rachael Fallon, who has become one of my favourite teachers to work with. Not only is she extremely experienced and works through the practice by demonstrating some of the more advanced poses, but she has an incredible soundcloud account that I love to play around the clock. Check it out!

POSITIVE VIBES

I think it's safe to say that no matter who and where you are in the world today, we are all inspired by someone or something that is found on social media. Whether it's cooking, fashion inspiration or a page that features some of the most beautiful flowers (@floretflower), it's important to fill your downtime with images that represent a realistic and productive sense of reality.  I recently made a pact with myself to unfollow all of the accounts the promote negative lifestyles or images that tend to lower one's confidence and/or self esteem. Learning to love the skin you're in can be a challenge for young women (and men) so I think it's important to aspire to good role models, if you're looking to any at all. Because I am a sucker for Instagram (sorry, Snapchat) I've compiled a short but sweet list of super down the earth bloggers, personalities and travelling gurus who I've come to follow while scrolling through the 'gram.
