Since i've been so MIA, I decided to whip up a quick playlist of some of the tracks i've been listening to. I recently signed up for Spotify premium but I'm torn between getting Apple Music as well... the interface seems so much easier to use on my iPhone than opening a whole other app. On the other hand, Soundcloud has been my go-to for YEARS and I'm pretty sure anyone can access this public playlist. Check it out. Have a listen. Leave inspired. (I hope) haha.
Pretty sure i'm off to LA in a few days... finally. xx
I'll never forget the first time I saw The Weeknd live. The secret show at the MOD Club took place over five years ago on July 24th, 2011. Everytime I listen to a track or think back to the times i'd wait up all night for a mixtape drop, I get an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia. It's one of the most incredible feelings and i'll never forget how much my friends ragged on me for repping XO when no one had any clue he would go so far in his career.
I've known about Allan Rayman for a couple of years now. My friend Anneliese was in one of his first music videos and I thought it was so cool that she got to be apart of it. Everything from the production, to his original sound and the creepy wolf masks grasped my attention and reminded me of the many reasons why I became hooked on Abel's music. Over the years I found out more about Allan's background and learned about his roots in the city of Toronto. My friend Alec out in LA who works with Post Malone is also a big fan and i'll never forget the time we cruised down Sunset Blvd this summer, taking in everything that made his music so fascinating to listen to.
When I found out that Allan was going on tour and was going to perform his first Toronto show, I had to be there. After a nearly two month wait before the show date, I was so excited it almost made me sick. We showed up to The Royal Cinema on College Street and to my surprise, there was no line. So after waiting for twenty minutes, I got my hands on front row seats and had time of my life. I really hope I didn't piss anyone off by shouting every single one of his lyrics but I couldn't contain the energy I'd been holding in over the years and wanted everyone - especially Allan - to know that he has some pretty die hard fans and his music truly resonated with me.
I've put a few links to Allan's soundcloud below, so head on over and give him a follow and support him by downloading his albums/singles on Apple Music.
I'll just leave this right here. Soak it in. This is everything i'll be listening to going into 2017.
I was recently gifted my first pair of bluetooth earphones from Sudio Sweden and in light of the release of Apple's AirPods, I was pretty excited to see that they are 'connected' by a cord so I don't have to worry about losing one (or the other). I am now the proud owner of the premium VASA BLA model in white and rose gold and I have to say, beyond the incredibly sleek and stylish design, the sound quality is incredible. I'm someone who spends a considerable amount of time listening to music, on the phone, or interacting with Siri (busted!) so it's a really nice alternative to using my Apple headphones or Beats by Dre. The package arrived with a white leather carrying case, USB charging cable and a number of different ear buds that can easily be switched for comfort and sizing. Did I mention the battery lasts for up to eight hours and they are the lightest on the market? I love bringing them with me on a run, you almost forget they're even in!

I've been back in Toronto for nearly two weeks and am so happy that the beautiful summer weather has continued throughout the month of September. While I have been slowly transitioning back into going to yoga everyday, I've been going out late night to run and the cool evenings have been incredible. Although I'm not a huge fan of the gym, I do love doing cardio indoors because it really allows me to zone out - unlike the busy downtown streets that require a significant amount of attention to where you're going (and the never ending stop lights). To make things easier, I've been getting in the hang of creating different playlists and started listening to one of my favourite artists, Ben Khan. Check out some of my favourite tracks, below.
