When I got back from LA at the beginning of September (I can't believe it's been that long?!) I came home to a care package from one of my favourite companies, YOUR TEA. I first discovered their products during my first year of university and have been stocking my cupboards ever since. While they initially gained momentum following the release of the TINY TEATOX, they have since released a wide range of products and offer everything from wellness, detox and cafe teas, as well as accessories and e-books - they even have gluten-free tea!

The TINY TEATOX is something that I tend to keep in my kitchen year round. Whether you're trying it for the first time (I would recommend the 14-DAY) or looking at the product as part of an ongoing commitment to help you get into shape (I would recommend the 28-DAY), its great to carry a teabag in your purse or while you travel to help with bloating, digestion and appetite control. Every tea arrives in a specific box along with information about the tea and how to achieve the best results while following a healthy and balanced diet. Because we're human, there's no harm in indulging in a cheat meal every so often but I know that personally, I often bloat when I'm eating lots of sugar, salt and carbs. The TINY TEATOX is easy to follow, convenient and never fails if you're feeling a little icky from overeating.

Flashback to the end of the summer. YOUR TEA sent me their new product, the LIVER CLEANSE, to try. I've tried a number of different cleanses in the past, including 1, 3, and 5 day juice cleanses, and the Master Cleanse. Cleanses can be boring and they often leave you feeling tired, anxious and hungry for solid food. I was particularly interested in the liver cleanse because it's 14 days long and comes with a meal plan and routine that should be followed while consuming the different teas that are included in the kit. I was so busy at the end of the summer that I barely had any time to blog about my personal experience on the cleanse, so I decided to order it from their online store and try it AGAIN so I could provide a full recap on my results, as well as any feedback, tips, and recommendations. 

For someone who is often on the go, I found it quite manageable to complete the cleanse without missing anything and was able to avoid cheat meals because of healthy alternatives and prepped meals that I took with me when I left the house. Starting your day with hot lemon water is already something I do on a daily basis, so substituting with tea was an easy way to transition into the cleanse. The afternoon tea was great but I really love the taste and smell of the night tea. I can't deny that I really looked forward to it throughout the day and it helped put me to sleep. I was advised not to use the TINY TEATOX while I was on the cleanse so that's definitely something I would keep in mind, but I didn't run into any problems relating to bloating, digestion or appetite. This may have been a result of carefully abiding by the rules of the cleanse, listed in the information booklet that was included in the box. The final days of the cleanse consist of drinking a probiotic tea, which was also pleasant and basically prepared my body to get off the cleanse and transition back into an everyday diet. I think it's important to keep in mind that this tea was not meant to result in weight loss, but like other diet or exercise programs, you are what you eat and how you take care of yourself. I strive to keep the results of the cleanse going by eating a healthy diet and sweating at least once a day.
