First post of the new year goes to a recent documentary I came across on Netflix called Happy. Like other forms of psychology such as depression and mental illness, people are beginning to study happiness and how it is measured around the world. It's interesting to note that some people who live with next to nothing are said to be as happy as the average American.

The first words of the day should always be thank you and I truly feel so blessed to be alive and have the opportunities and experiences that I do. At the end of the day, it's not necessarily about being with one person or truly understanding yourself, but rather making sure that the ones you love end up happy and healthy. Striving for personal growth instead of financial growth can expand your horizons in many aspects of life. Take something you want to buy really bad in mind and exchange that item for something to experience. You'd be surprised at how much more you can learn about yourself and the world around you.

If you haven't already, check out Happy on Netflix. :-)
