Coachella 2018

It's safe to say that 2018 has been off to a pretty good start! From moving out of Toronto, travelling to Cancun, Mexico in January with friends, Honolulu, Hawai'i with my family in February, New York City in March AND Los Angeles, California for Coachella in Palm Springs... sometimes I have to pinch myself. I swear my horoscope told me that I would be doing a whole lot of travelling this year, but I didn't know this would be the extent of all of the exciting places I've had the opportunity to visit.

Coachella was a dream. I know that music festivals aren't for everyone but Coachella was always at the top of my list. It was a last minute, spontaneous decision and I'm so happy I got the chance to experience it - especially with headliners The Weeknd, Beyonce, and Eminem. On top of the ridiculously warm weather, celebrity sightings and yummy food and drinks, we caught a bunch of different sets throughout the three day festival. From Belly, Alvvways, Alt-J, ODESZA, Post Malone, Migos, SZA, Kygo, Cardi B, French Montana, The Neighbourhood, blackbear, and special guests Kendrick Lamar, NAV, Skylar Grey, Dr Dre and 50 Cent. CRAZY.

AIR MAX MONTH

We are only three months into 2018 and the sneaker releases thus far have been pretty friggin exciting! While NIKE has made several announcements regarding the efforts that are being made to bring more sneaker options, styles and retail opportunities for women, I have already had the chance to get my hands on some of my favorite releases. I am also in the midst of packing for something super exciting and I can't wait to share my future plans for this next chapter of this little thing called LIFE.

Peep my new Air Max 180s from the 'Ultramarine' pack, and my WMNS Air Max 98 from the 'Gundam' pack. I'm in LUV. Praying I get my hands on the Sean Wotherspoon AM 97/1 that are expected to drop via a general release on Air Max Day 2018 - March 26th.

HEAVENLY

HEAVENLY

I have now been vegan for over 6 months! I have never felt so good!! I have to thank all of the incredible people in my life who have encouraged me through the transition from vegetarian to vegan, while also educating me on the benefits of a vegan diet, lifestyle and compassion for animals and the environment. I decided to be a vegetarian when I was very young - 10 years old - and to be completely honest, my family wasn't very happy about it. Living in a home where my parents believed a healthy diet isn't possible without animal products, it feels incredible to know that so much research and news has come to light in the past 14 years, ultimately giving my family some peace of mind. I know that now I am not only doing some great things for my own body and overall health, but I am also helping the future of the planet through my transition to a full vegan.

With that being said, one of my favorite YouTube personalities is Ellen Fisher, a vegan mama who lives in Hawaii with her vegan family and shares her vegan recipes, lifestyle choices and insight on what its like to live a vegan life and raise her children vegan. It's definitely something I am considering for my (potential) future family.

When I was in Oahu, Hawaii (we stayed in Waikiki Beach) I was eating delicious Acai bowl every day!! I even came across a Pitaya bowl (pink dragonfruit) from this resto called HEAVENLY and I fell in LUV. So sweet! So fresh! So delicious! There really is nothing better. In the meantime, I have been attempting to perfect the perfect Acai sorbet here at home - the trick: use as a little liquid as possible.

HOLA MEXICO

Long story short, I ended up going on a last minute trip with some girlfriends and we ended up in CANCUN, MEXICO. Life is but a dream! On top of the delicious fruit, sunny weather, boat trips and drunken days, I am now practically fluent in Spanish! haha xx

NYC FOR NYE

Ringing in the New Year in New York City has always been on my bucket list. I know that queuing for the countdown in Times Square sounds like a daunting experience since it can get so cold during the winter months, but I still wanted to give it a shot. Unfortunately, it was pretty clear that it was going to be somewhat impossible to make happen, since 2017 going into 2018 was confirmed to be the 3rd coldest NYE in history. The wind chill was extremely uncomfortable and I realized there was no way I would pressure my buddy to stand in the frigid cold for countless hours... so New York City Times Square NYE is still on my bucket list. Any takers?

Despite the cold, we still had an incredible time - we drank red wine and patron shots all day, had yummy mexican food in east village for dinner and headed over to Brooklyn for a groovy night at Baby's All Right. I think we rang in the new year at a pizza spot but I was so out of my mind I can hardly recall.

Here's a visual recap xx
